Have you had weight loss surgery? I ask because if you have a smaller stomach (VSG) or smaller pouch (RNY) then a good strategy is to make sure you prioritize protein. I can eat five Christmas cookies or an entire bag of popcorn and not be full. But give me 5 ounces of deli meat and I am stuffed. So if you are at a party, go for the meat and cheese first, leaving less room for the dessert table. At a holiday dinner, eat the ham and turkey first and way less mashed potatoes and stuffing.

I agree, dense proteins fills you up where carbs you can eat and eat and eat. It's been proven bad carbs/white carbs are very addictive.

One of my staples 14 years ago and now is chili. Make a pot and enjoy. Watch the portion control :-)

Take care,

Kathy
