Weight loss at dietician
Good morning! I know when you go to the dietician they don't want you to gain weight. If you lost some weight will the insurance company (I have Aetna) deny your surgery if you fall under the 40 BMI. Right now I am just hitting the 40. I am nervous if I lost 10-15 lbs that I would be denied. Any insight on the process is appreciated. Thanks so much and happy Sunday!
As Kim said check with your insurance company and/or have the Bariatric office check. Can vary by insurance provider and plan.
Usually they will tell you what you need to lose or not lose. If you have co- morbidities such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea or diabetes the dropping below 40 is less of an issue...

Even though I was a self paid (in US) , but had no health issues beside being fat, I was advised not to try very hard to lose weight until my 4 weeks pre-op diet. I was trying to eat healthier, but really did not try to lose weight. I hovered around 40-41 BMI.
