You are reading and I"m doing what is medically accurate provided me by a professional with a degree in the subject and therein lies the difference. I do my cardio on an Arc Trainer by Cybex, aerobics classes, and interval training. I use the Arc Trainer because it burns 11% more calories than other elliptical machines or treadmills, and it much more physically demanding than other cardio machines, excepting stair machines.

Last week my wife happened to have Rachel Ray on and she had this "expert" on highly recommending fruit juice as one of the top liquids to drink to lose weight. He based his statement on the "fact" that juices had nothing but natural sugars and contained no added sugars. Ever compare the nutrition label on a juice bottle and a "No Sugar Added" juice? That's all it takes to discredit this so-called "expert."

Calories expended vs calories consumed, that's how simple it is. Since learning that math I have only failed to achieve 3500 calories burned in a week, twice, and my weight loss shows that of the 33 pounds I have lost, 27 of them are fat, and because I'm operating on a calorie deficit on a daily basis, I can guarantee that the weight will not come back, it can't possibly because it's biology.

...Until if/when your caloric intake goes above your RMR, which it eventually does for many people.

Pounds lost are not gone forever. It's biology.

Yeah, I'm not buying whatever you're selling. Part of your home page reads like an add. Also, why don't you just post in the non-surgical weight-loss group? This is a surgery form for people that have thought long and hard about what they need & want. How dare you stand in judgment of our life choices.

Excuse me Liz, but I thought I was posting in the "General Discussion" page. why it took me to this page I have no idea, but it's done it several times. However, it was pointed out to me over the weekend, by a surgery patient commenting on a post on the non-surgical thread, that she could post on whatever thread she wants to so I'm guessing the same rule applies to me.

As for second-guessing your choices I am not. You made your choice and that's okay. I was just offering some information that I have found to be hugely helpful in my weight loss journey.

Go away. Seriously.

You have chosen to come to a site, designed to support those who've elected surgery to help with their obesity issues, and shame us into following "your way." News flash. We are adults who probably have tried "your way" dozens of times. With research and the consent of our physicians, we underwent surgery.

Yes, there are a few people who frequent this site that are in the research phase and haven't committed, but the vast percentage of us, on all pages including the General Discussion, have already had surgery. And those who are researching know all about eating less and exercising more. Your post isn't news to anyone.

So what's your point, if not to shame others for the decision they have already made?

Go away.

Yea.. where did you dig this out? that views were popular years ago. And disputed by studies upon studies.

If it were that simple - I would not exist today.

It can be a wishful thinking. Keep dreaming.

Much like other social media sources, you don't offer facts to back up your views. Where is the scientific data clearly stating that the human body processes food substantially differently than it did 30 years ago? It is my firm belief that the only reason that you folks ar so upset is because you know I am right. At least be honest enough to state that the reason you chose the surgical option is because you wanted a microwave result. 30 pounds in 30 days!!", "18 inches lost in just thirty days!!!" unable to understand that the "plan" consisted of drinking two shakes per day and eating one meal.

I have been nothing but civil in my posts yet all of you have called me names and belittled me in many, many ways. You want links that include peer reviewed studies to back up my facts, yet none of you have offered anything to support your beliefs. I'm sorry if I rocked your world this weekend, and I'm sorry if I upset anyone this weekend. There is one person who actually stated a truism, the weight loss industry in this country is a multi-billion dollar industry, and that fact alone should give you all pause for thought. I know what is working for me and I know that it is based on scientific and medical fact.

Since the First Amendment clearly applies to everyone else but me, I will do as I was asked and shut up and go away, but that doesn't make me wrong and you right. I'll keep doing what I'm doing and you keep doing what you are doing and perhaps you will understand that there is only one way to achieve permanent weight loss.

What remains lost on all of you is that the surgery does nothing except change the physical capacity you have to store food, resulting in fewer calories consumed. Add in the exercise programs that you go on after the surgery and all you have accomplished is to burn more calories than you consume. Get it? The difference between your method and my method is that your method cost you thousands of dollars and my method costs me virtually nothing.

I have better things to do than choosing to hang out with negative thinking people like you all Good day to you all.

So many fallacies here.

The first amendment only applies to the government's ability to censure. It has no bearing on whether or not random people on an internet forum can tell you that your claims are non-sensical.

You keep using the word "fact" but you don't seem to understand what it means. You're the one who came here making these grand claims, therefore it is your responsibility to provide the science that backs your claims up.

We've known you for all of 10 minutes and none of them have been pleasant. I can't speak for anyone else, but that means that I'm not going to accept homework from you, especially when you're unwilling to do your own homework.

I'm glad, truly, that your method is working for you. Yay! It's always great to see people taking steps to improve their health! No one likes a mansplaining zealot, though.
