What is the dumbest thing a nutritionist has told you?

There are many bad nutritionists out there. Some are just misinformed, but some are just not right for patients who have had WLS. Has a nutritionist given you really dumb, or bad advice.
I haven't seen one on a regular basis. When I first started my WLS journey I had to, and I have seen a dietitian twice on my own to have my BMR and BMI checked. Love the dietitian, she's great. The nutritionist, now that I think back to all we talked about in that appointment, was an idiot.
Advice? Veggies first. Maybe for normal unaltered people, but not for me sister!
No mention of weighing, or tracking. Instead her way to measure my food in take was "Portions no bigger than your palm" I hate visual portion guides. I suck at them, and they aren't accurate nutrition tracking. I would think a nutritionist would prefer to offer advice on how to effectively track your calories and nutrients.

When I was first diagnosed as type 2, my GP sent me to see one and get tips for how to eat as a diabetic. The one I saw told me I was only a little diabetic and not to worry about what I was eating and to just focus on losing weight. The way to lose weight was to focus on having three meals with three items (less than three items is a snack not a meal). Oddly, this advice did not help me.
My Bariatric program is at the same hospital but fortunately the RD in the program is much better!

I know, right? I don't think it would have made any difference if she had given me good information, I don't think I was ready to change but I do cringe about what she might be saying to new people still.

I was told it was okay to eat fruit ****tail after surgery. It was actually in my packet of approved foods. She said it was okay because we can only eat a little bit. There was never any mention of weighing or logging foods either.
I am thankful for this board. It has taught me so much!

I sense a theme with nutritionists wanting to push intuitive eating. My intuition tells me that I can eat plenty of cake if I really was focused. The more cake the better, just keep going! I will stick with weighing and tracking!
I am not good with the visual, either. I could load up a lot of food on my palm!!
