Premier Protein Lawsuit??
Anyone else get a card about this. The lawsuit claims Premier made false claims about the amount of protein in their shakes. Premier denied the claim but has agreed to settle the lawsuit.
We just got it today.

I did some Googling and found this, from last summer:
Basically, the people bringing the lawsuit say that the shakes don't claim the 30g protein claimed on the label. Gregorio had a lab do a test, and the lab reported that the shakes actually contained between 26.9g and 28.3g of protein.
They're basically suing saying that Premier is deliberately misleading consumers, and that they have been "injured" because they either would not have bought Premier, or wouldn't have paid so much for it, if they knew it only contained ~28g protein.
Consumers who opt in to the settlement can get $40 with proof of purchase, or $20 without.

While I believe truth in advertising is important, and getting my protein in is also important...I guess that's not enough of a difference in protein count for me to be that upset.

Yeah, that's my take as well. I rather doubt that the company was trying to deliberately scam people; it's more likely that there's a bit of variation in manufacturing.

Same here. It's not like Genepro and a couple of others that claim 30 g of protein and only 55 calories -- about 14 grams of actual protein.

I'm not mad. I love Premier, worrying I've 2-3 missing grams of protein is not even on my list of things to be upset over.
Yeah. I get why, right after surgery, people are scraping together minimum protein numbers. 1 gram of protein from this handful of nuts, 2 from this milk, etc etc. But those are just rounding errors, as far as I'm concerned.

Did you see the numbers. Instead of 30 grams it was like 28.3 or something close. Im just wondering how the guy that initiated the lawsuit would even know unless he went to his doctor and the doctor said your protein levels are low.???
