I saw that article this morning, and I admit that as I was reading it I kept bracing myself for some anti-WLS info. Glad that never came.

I might be an old lady (42 - lol) but why, oh why, does the HuffPost frequently have causal swearing in their journalism? Sigh. Was an f-bomb necessary in this article? It must not be an issue for most people, but I find it jarring and off-putting. Sometimes it just feels calculated or forced - a cheap way to seem "edgy" I guess. Otherwise, it was an excellent piece.

Telling positive or Telling make your head explode? Comments sections have been known to induce high blood pressure (at least for me, lol)

It's based on their lifetime experience of how their body behaves. MO people's bodies crave gain and resist differently :(

Many people who have never been overweight don?t want to hear anything that threatens their sense or moral superiority. If they acknowledge that obesity has a complex matrix of causes, they?d have to accept that maybe thinness is the same?that they might not be thin solely by way of their superior lifestyle and choices.

I read that article yesterday and felt so incredibly sad by the end of it. It's extremely good and I found myself nodding my head in agreement many times.

I thought the part about how they showed photos of prospective applicants for a job incredibly sad. The fact that the photos of obese applicants were discounted right away, without even knowing what education or experience the person had, was brutal to be honest. It was immediate. No thanks, we don't want them because they're fat.

I have to admit, I initially had WLS for health reasons but a secondary reason was that I knew that if I applied for a new, or different job, I wouldn't get it because of how I looked. Looks like I was right. I wish I weren't.
