Thank you everyone for taking the time to share and inform our community on what is needed from a weight loss program to be successful for you!

Please take a moment and write a review for your surgeon (if you have not done so) as this will help others in our community to make an informed decision.

My Surgeon was Dr. Douglas Krahn of Western Bariatric in San Bernardino, CA! 10's all around for surgeon and staff. The office is very much involved with making sure that patients know what is approved/not approved under the program and makes themselves available at all times so that patients cannot say "they couldn't get ahold of anyone".

There are multiple support groups in multiple locations each month to allow for members to get the support needed to continue to be successful post-surgery.

Dr. Nicole Basa, Cedar Park, TX-10!

She does many wls's and is a general surgeon. I was fortunate to be approved very quickly (3 weeks), but she requires pre-surgery labs, CT scan of abdomen, Upper GI, Psych eval, echocardiogram and stress test, and I had a venous doppler of legs. I watched 10 videos, took quizzes on them, attended a sopport group, and met the dietician for a consult. Surgery went well because I followed directions to the letter and she's careful to help patients with any nausea and pain. I was released in 24 hrs, took Tylenol once, and healed quickly. They have a very conservative protocol for diet progression which I also followed. Thirteen months later, I am down 125 lbs, all labs are great, and I feel successful for the first time in my lifetime of dieting. I have 50 more to go and it's coming off slowly, but the weight is not going up. I attribute my success to excellent patient education and care and my own compliance and willingness to work the program!!
