There's nothing wrong with one piece of a complex carb, even if it is a fruit.

I need to cut carbs; I was hoping I can get some advice to get this going again. I hate have 0 carbs, but carbs def impact my weight.

the only way to cut carbs, like with any other addiction, is cold turkey. The first three days to a week will be hell but then it gets easier unless you cave and have carbs again. Then you are back to square one.

Just finished day 4 without sugar. I just hate this detox and how when sugar is in my brain I lose all rationality. The cobwebs are clearing.

For the OP..RIP the band aide. Ditch those carby carbs.

Deb I somehow missed your sugar-fast. But I'm going to tag along with you by starting today. It is so much easier to keep eating down when the sugar monster isn't allowed into the equation.

Congrats on Day 4!

That would be great!

Like Hollykim said, cold turkey is really the best way. If you wanted to not do it that way, just cut out a carby food you usually eat one at a time maybe. If you eat cereal for breakfast, maybe try something like sausage and eggs, or bacon and eggs (yum).

Your menu is nearly all carbs. The only way to beat a carb addiction is to cold-turkey it. If we could moderate, we wouldn't have become obese.

Breakfast is oatmeal w fruit -- ALL CARBS. Replacement: Eggs, sausage, bacon, or other meat.

Lunch is a chili soup or a salad -- Chili with beans is carb-laden. Soups are slider foods. Salads have no protein. Replacement: lunch meat with an oz of cheese, tuna fish with a tsp mayo, chicken breast, or 3 oz hamburger patty.

snacks are peanut butter w granola or 100% fruit pops -- ALL CARBS. Replacements: 1 oz of almonds, a string cheese, 15 slices of pepperoni, beef jerky, or a low carb protein shake.

Dinner varies, but usually protein, carb n veggies -- No idea -- but cut the carbs and limit vegetables (which depending on type, may also be carbs) -- Replacements: 3 oz. of chicken, steak, ham, pork chop, fish, seafood, lamb, veal, etc and a very small amount of green vegetables.

No grazing.
