Cold brew - it doe snot get bitter, and the more grounds yo use - the stronger the coffee is. I use less coffee that before, and drink more coffee. First time I ever used my cold brew coffee - I made it very strong and .. after I drank what I would normally drink... wow...I knew i used too much of my cold brew coffee.
I use 8-10 oz of cold brew, mixed with 12 oz of water...

I make my own. Don?t judge - I use old school Folgers breakfast blend for my cold brew. One cup grounds, 3 cups water, stir, let sit 12-24 hours, strain and then use as base. When I get purchased cold brew, I have to add a splash of almond milk but when I make it at home, I just add water.
wdited to answer the second part - I use a French press to make mine, it's perfect to hold the ground down and strain out the yummy cold brew gold!!

this makes me feel better-- I don't want to have to buy special coffee that costs a lot more and then go through it extra fast because I know it uses more grounds to make cold brew.
Thanks!!

We bought a cold brew machine due to my mom wanting cold brew over hot coffee. It?s less bitter than regular brewed. She won?t drink decaf. Depending on how strong you like coffee most cold brew apparatus make a sort of concentrated syrup to be diluted. A 2 liter pitcher last my mom about 4-5 days. The machine she bought makes 7 cups and then we add a little less than that of water. We don?t buy special coffee or expensive coffee.
My mom didn?t care for most of the cold brew packets out there. Only one she liked was from world market in a brown tin. They are terribly overpriced. The machine we got was expensive but she loves it. Will find a link.

I have a Toddy system, which apparently is what Starbucks uses for their cold brew, but on a much larger scale.
Had it for years and I love it. I get my beans ground at the grocery store on the coarsest setting (percolator grind). Dump the grounds and 10 cups of water into the bucket, leave it on the counter for at least 12 hours, and then filter it. Super simple.
