Hello!

I have been in maintenance for 3 years after losing 145lbs. I am a vegetarian and always love to find new, fun ways to get in my protein sources. And, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for their favorite online bariatric friendly food stores?

Amazon or Walmart probably have the biggest selections. They won't have "bariatric" on the label, but they won't also have an up charge for that word either!

I also vote for Amazon. If you have questions regarding a particular brand, or product HERE...no doubt SOMEONE will have tried it, and will have an answer for you!

I agree with the amazon recommendation. I used to find things on netrition.com as well. You might find a product on there and check the price elsewhere to compare :)

Be really, really careful of anything with bariatric in the title, whether it be a store or a product. Some are excellent. But some are just taking advantage of vulnerable people, just to make money.

There were a couple of online stores that specialized in bariatric products. They became infamous for not delivering st all, or delivering products very very slow. I'm honestly not sure if they are still in business.

There are some bariatric vitamins that promise one tablet per day. But to get the same amount of nutrients of 2 generic CVS adult multivitamins, you'd need 8 of the "bariatric" ones. And instead of 12 dollars per year, you'd pay 90 dollars a month.

I've seen protein powders that promise 30 grams of protein in a tiny scoop, for only 5 calories. It's just preposterous. And a shame the government doesn't regulate the supplement industry.

Again, there are some bariatric products and companies that are great. Just try to learn which are which.

But as others above said, I never found anything that I couldn't also get on Amazon.

Nashua Nutrition has quite a few products aimed at those on a higher protein diet. For example, they have a large selection of protein shakes, which you can purchase individual samples of, so you don't have to buy a large jug of something you may not like.

But I agree with others. The further out you become, the less likely you need bariatric products.
