how are you feeling? any weight gain? if you look at my signature i am 165 lbs almost 30 lbs more than my lowest weight. i am having a hard time losing weight, i still have a lot of restriction and im thinking its more drinking empty calories, its easier to drink something than to chew protein (which due to still a lot of restriction i end up throwing up most of the time by not chewing slow, etc) i guess i can start doing protein shakes again, but my new nutritionist (had to switch surgeon again) recommended 800 cals a day of pure protein. just need encouragement at this point or any tips and tricks you can suggest, thank you so much!

I'm 6 years post op but I had regained about 60 lbs due to pregnancy and some other medical issues. I have been working very hard since July 1st to get the weight off and am down 12 lbs in 5 weeks so you can do it. I still have restriction. Your sleeve will still work for you. If you come to the VSG menu board you can see what everyone eats and get an idea. I track everything that goes in my mouth on myfitnesspal. I do high protein and low carb/sugar. What are you eating in a day? I only drink water, coffee, or protein shakes. I came back to OH for the support and encouragement and it has been helping me and I post on the menu board everyday to hold myself accountable so maybe that would help you. Good luck! You can do this!!
My surgery was 3 weeks after your, so yes I'm 3 years out too. I had RNY. I'm 20# above my lowest, but only desire to lose 10# of that, and I've only put in marginal effort.
Some believe in bounce back regain- I do to an extent. I spilt the baby- call 1/2 bounce back and 1/2 me. You seem like you know where your issue is-- drinking calories.
I think you need to put the work in to chew/digest actual protein. Drinking calories - protein or otherwise, will never help you get comfortable eating dense proteins.
Consider soft proteins, things like boiled eggs, lunch meats, ground meats; if an actual chicken breast/roast etc seems overwhelming.
Its doable-- never think that's it's not, it's just harder.

Many people start gaining at the 3 year mark, so you are not alone. The newness has worn off, we can eat more, and we get lax with our eating. A few extra bites here and there add up quickly.
The good news is you can lose it again. Weigh and measure every bite. 800 calories of mostly protein and low carbs is what works for most of us. You can do it!!

Next month will make 3 years for me. There are days when things are easier and days when things are harder but that is true for anything in life. I have not gained. I have maintained for close to two years now. I am still about 10 pounds from my personal goal however my surgeon says that unless I have skin removal I will likely not be able to hit that because I don't really have much more fat that I could safely lose. I have taken several steps to make sure that I stay accountable to myself though. I weigh myself every single morning to ensure that I am staying on track. If I see that I am outside of my 3 pound bounce range I make sure that I evaluate what I am eating and rein in the carbs if I have gotten lax with them. I also log every single bite that goes into my mouth on my fitness pal. I have 1048 consecutive days at this point. I make sure that I eat high protein and low carbs most all of the time. I am not one to want to live in total deprivation so there are times when I do allow a bit of something here or there however I log it in and stay accountable for it. For me that has been key, making sure that I am accountable for what I eat and staying within the limits I set out for myself.
