I've seen that site but never used it, thanks for the recommendation/confirmation that it's good!

I've been very happy. One time, I customized a couple of dresses, but struck out (they looked TERRIBLE on me). They took them back, no problem.

The only not-great item that I ordered was a pair of pants. I went with a straight size vs. trying to customize, so this might have been part of the problem.

Another thing I like is that you can zero in on fabric types. For instance, if you don't like rayon or polyester, you can search just natural fibers.

This is so true peachpie

I was trying on a dress for a wedding and had dresses in the dressing room from size 4 - 12. Seriously?

Glad you know it's the fashion designer not you

Sizing is almost completely imaginary - whatever the company or designer says it is, it is! The only things which aren't pretend about one's size are inches, centimeters, and pounds. I am still 20 pounds over my original goal weight and 33 pounds over my secondary goal (to give myself wiggle room once I transition into maintenance). Yet I am buying and wearing Smalls and in the case of one designer, even XS! Ridiculous, because I am not truly small at all! At the same time some of my old pencil skirts still don't fit even through they're size 10s and 12s from many years back. I find that wrap styles in general fit me the best - and I mean true wraps, not faux wraps. My waist is small, my hips definitely are not; my bust isn't small, but my ribcage is. Wrap dresses and skirts are my absolute favorites. They allow me to custom-tie my clothing to accentuate what's small but still fit what's not. Win!

I bought myself a sewing machine a couple of weeks ago precisely because I want to learn how to sew, so I can make myself some beautiful wrap dresses.

I totally agree to this- I have sizes 2-6 in my closet that fit. I also have vintage clothes in a 12!! to give perspective on size change over the years.

I think you're brilliant. And very liberated in the best possible sense of that word to buy clothing that feels and looks good on you REGARDLESS of what the label inside the clothing says.

One day last winter I had on pieces that ranged from Size 2 (I don't HOW that thing was a 2), 4, 8, and (cough!) XL. Yes, the XL was a little roomy, but it looked very good.

Also, modern clothing styles are looser than in recent years. Skin-tight clothing is passe, except for those still living in the Kardashian cult. ;)
