New Quest Bar Flavor - Maple Waffle

I saw that Quest had a new bar flavor, so I ordered a box to try it out. Maple Waffle - yum!

The verdict? The flavor is nice and mapley, so that's pretty good. However, they tried to put syrupy pieces in it, so the result is REALLY super sticky and gooey. Be warned! This is not a protein bar you want to eat when you're far away from a sink!

Hmm ... I am usually skeptical of maple-flavored things, but you were right on the birthday cake one, so I might give this one a try.

I recommend that you just get one bar to try and don't buy a whole box like I did :P SO STICKY.

How mapley is it? Maple has always been FAR too sweet for me and has always made me sick to my stomach. While the bar sounds delicious, if it's as sweet as regular maple syrup, it might be a delicious I have to pass on :(

It's definitely sweeter than their other bars, imo, but not as sweet as the Birthday Cake flavor I think. But.. taste is so subjective!

I will have to avoid trying these because they sound too yummy. I usually eat a protein bar every day for convenience, but I have to avoid the really good ones or my obese brain takes over and I start eating them like candy bars.

I totally hear you there. One of the things I like about Quest bars is that, most of the time, they're tasty enough that I'll eat them when I need to, but not so tasty that I want to eat a lot of them.

For me, these are entirely too messy to want to eat at all! I'll probably take the box to my support group on Monday and share them with people who might like them more than I do.

I went to Vitamin Shoppe this morning to get one of these, $70 later...LOL! And today is sample day, so I got three different samples of whey protein, a bunch of samples of chewables: biotin, b12, probiotic, tumeric and magnesium. I also grabbed some that are supposed to suppress appetite...but after looking at all the sugar in them, I don't think I'll use those.

I haven't tried the bar yet. I have to plan very carefully to fit one of those into my day.

I've decided that because I'm so limited on real-estate, unless I REALLY like something, I'm not going to take more than a bite. My husband or dog will finish anything I don't eat.

I've heard people say they are better/less sticky if you put them in the fridge.
