What one song or thing...

Gets you going? Puts you in a good mood? And so on... please share what picks you up in a rough patch! I'll post in a reply.

I'll admit this past week has been rough. I've felt like throwing in the old towel. I saw a psychologist for an evaluation and felt like I betrayed myself...if that even makes sense. I was honest even when it hurt like hell. I ended up taking some tests and I guess i'll Find out more in the coming weeks. I had decided not to get a therapist after the appointment but have backed away from that decision. Nothing left but to try it. I need to work on my brain and meds alone are not doing the trick. I'm still scared but i'm trying to be brave.

Psych evals can be really challenging :/ I'm glad you're going to follow through on finding a therapist. Remember that it might take a few tries to find one you click with - don't get demoralized if the first one doesn't work out!

I have very broad musical interests, so much depends on my mood. That said, Santigold gives me power. She has a unique POV, crosses genres and is killing it doing her own thing. The songs are great, but it's the lyrics that get me going. She also didn't really break big until she was in her late 30s, which I love.

If I'm feeling drained and ready to give up on my creative hustle, the lyrics to Disparate Youth remind me to keep running and striving. If I just need a song to get me moving fast, GO! (W/Karen O.) hits the spot.

I like to listen to music from when I was a kid. It is usually that has no meaning. Only good memory songs I play. I can go to a very dark place when I listen to Five Finger Death Punch. I like a couple songs they sing but only in small doses.

I love this band Pop Evil

Pop Evils music I hold close to my heart. Their Waking the Lions in Me have really helped me with my addiction.

I love all different types of music. 80s dance music always make me laugh.

I am sorry you are feeling this way. It is not an always easy road after surgery. So many ups and downs.

Glad you are going to seek help. We do not have to suffer alone.

I think almost everyone should talk to a therapist. That is just my thoughts. I love mine. I love to be able to talk to someone with the knowing it will not go farther than their office.

Having friends are great. Sometimes it is easier to not hold back with a therapist. We don't want to burden them.

I hope you feel better soon.

I LOVE Pop Evil! Just listening to them now! They have really empowering lyrics!

i listen to a lot of different stuff. Stone sour, slipknot, imagine dragons...even a bit of rap when the need hits.

Shinedown is a great bad also. Pop Evil has been my favorite this past year. The Onyx album I totally relate to. A little dark.
