New Netflix Show Insatiable Accused Of Being Fatphobic
Okay. This has evolved into an interesting discussion. Speaking about just the show: It's a revenge fantasy. There are lots of them in popular entertainment (Django Unchained, Heathers). A writer working out some demons. I highly doubt the point of the show is going to be that her path of revenge is a good one. I'm hoping that the main character works through demons and becomes a better person. If her character arc is simply, "get skinny, get revenge", then yes, that is boring and a terrible message. I'm going to give it a chance.

Yea...they mentioned wired mouth responsible for losing weight.... As an adult I decided to get braces. There was 3-4 months that they way my mouth was wired - I could not chew. (They we're fixing my bite). During that time I gained a lot of weight. Because I could have shakes or ice cream or any other food I can drink through the straw.
Plus the pain - I was craving cold and comfort foods.
So she was bullied and then turned into a bully herself. Nice..right...

Fatphobia is terrible, but it NEVER justifies physical violence.
