It was the snack foods fault, not my fault!
It must be the heat or something as this article just fried my bacon!
I was fat because of what "I" put in my mouth. No product did it to me! You eat 4 huge bags of this stuff every week and some organ is going to die. The Mother wants to blame the product? Even the doctor's are commenting on the product. Anything not consumed in moderation is going to cause damage. The parent said "but she loves it". Could this be why childhood obesity and juvenile diabetes is running rampant among our kids?
Is it me and the heat? Or do you agree? Maybe the product has something in it that makes you addicted?

If it's the heat, than it's getting to me too lol because I totally agree. Making sure I raise my daughter healthy is a HUGE priority for me, something I think about everyday. But I also understand the back lash toward the snack food companies. They spend a lot of time making their products as addicting as possible so we keep buying.
Thinking about it, I bet that the mom is also overweight or obese and eating these same kinds of foods, because that would explain why should doesn't just stop buying them. She doesn't want to give up her snacks either.

Hi Haley,
No the mother and daughter both looked at a normal weight but for the daughter (looked like around 13)to be that unhealthy at such a young age to lose her gall bladder is scary.... The mother said she wants the snacks banned from the school. But she knew she was eating at least 4 bags a week. If I got my son everything he loved he would be on My 600 Pound Life show....

My daughter had her gallbladder removed at 16. She also liked to eat Takis and Hot Cheetos....coincidence??
She was eating like a typical teenager...anything and everything. However she was and still is a an active athlete so generally that's not a problem.

I know a lot of people blame everyone but themselves for any given outcome.
I am the master of my own destiny. I put the food, of all kinds, in my mouth...not my mom, my absent father or any family. ME. I also had to be the one to change it. No one will do that for me either. We make choices...every single day...that shape every single day after that. The more we realize that the more self awareness and power we have.
maybe it's because of the heat but I so agree with you!

I think the thing that bothers me, is the kids are learning to be the master of their own destiny. But only if we, the parents teach them to do so...
When you have parents that let you have what ever you want because you want it and do what ever you want because you want to and not teach us the consequences of our choices we end up with a society that we are living in today. OMGOSH, I really got deep there Sorry about that!

I agree. The kids do what they see or whatever they are allowed to get away with. My mom had to work a lot so I ate a lot when she wasn't around...less when she was at home.
