You are incorrect.

1.9% of people in India are obese. (Source)

39.6% of Americans are obese. (Source)

40 PERCENT of Americans are obese? Not even " just" overweight?!!!

I don't think the Indian statistics include everyone like rural farmers -just perhaps the highest income ten percent of the population ? But believe me WLS is hugely popular there.

I think you are thinking of perhaps a Middle Eastern country...perhaps UAE?

Definitely there?s a huge obesity issue with veiled women in Middle Eastern countries ( and the men aren?t that skinny either) but India?s upper ( or more educated classes if you prefer ) are kind of unique in treating and acknowledging morbid obesity for quite a few years now.

Indian food can be very fatty .. the theory is that when you have access to all the traditional food you want you'll require surgery .

Cool. I almost tried out for our local league many years ago, but chickened out. I felt just a hair too old and already have a busted wrist from an old break that was misdiagnosed as a sprain. I was also scared of the banked track. I had soooo many derby names lined up. C'est la vie!

Are you playing bank track or flat track?
