Hi everyone, I'm on day 4 on my liquid diet, I loss 22lbs of water weight. I'm finding my self weak no energy, it's taking to long to get dress, I have to sit down a lot. Sometimes I feel faint How long is to long to go through this before I let my Doctor know. I know my body is adjusting to the liquid diet. It's getting hard to do my daily task. I have 23 days to go. Thank you in advance for your replies.

I had a lot of trouble with my protein shakes when I first started the pre surgery diet. The Dr. had to play around to get me a protein that didn't make me have issues. I would call your Dr. maybe its not enough protein for your body or its the kind of protein. Good luck with your weight loss :)

Are you drinking a minimum of 64 oz of water a day? If not, you need to drink more, as feeling faint could be due to dehydration. As well, if you were previously a big carb eater, it can take 4-7 days for carb detox, before you start to feel a little better. Stay the course, don't cheat, and it will improve. For many, this is one of the hardest aspects of pre-op. Good luck; you can do this!

You probably need more salt - and other minerals.

I had to have a "chicken stock" quite often. Low cabs cause loss of a lot of water body keeps to store that.

No carbs - we get depleted and often that can cause BP getting too low. Next thing - you may notice legs - muscles cramps. prevent that by getting some minerals and salt.

that's exactly what I was going to say - might be low sodium. I had chicken broth (or chicken broth-flavored protein) and/or tomato juice at least once a day when I was on the pre-op diet.

I've learned from the forums that pre-op diets vary widely, so I don't want to give any suggestions without know exactly what your pre-op diet is.

Could you please share the details of what your pre-op diet requires?

You might be better off getting all five allowed shakes in right now.

Why are you having trouble getting them in? Is it because of the taste? Have you tried the other flavors? You might want to try other high quality protein shakes. For example, I like optimum nutrition double rich chocolate protein powder mixed in unsweetened original almond milk. I find the premier protein shakes to be too sweet for my tastes.

You might want to plan for five "meals" a day if you're just doing breakfast, lunch, and dinner right now. Your body needs protein to function well.
