Full fluid stage- how to keep it low carb?

My surgery is next week and I'm working out my meal plan for the "full fluid" stage (10-14 days). I want to get a minimum of 100g protein a day, and I'd also like to limit my carbs as much as possible.

Is it realistic to count and limit carbs at this stage? Given the limited food choices, it seems like it's going to be difficult. I know I can have Greek yogurt, Skyr, cottage cheese- that's all good.

For protein shakes- would it be better to mix with milk (goat milk, in my case) for the extra protein (but added carbs), or stick with almond milk for lower carbs (and zero extra protein?)

I see that sometimes people mix SF pudding mixes into a protein shake, to make a protein pudding. It sounds good, but adds extra carbs. Same with mixing protein powder into apple sauce or soup. I can't even seem to find any soups that don't have added sugar. But maybe it's better to do this, than to just rely on shakes only?

Maybe I'm overthinking this and worrying needlessly. Maybe I don't need to worry about carbs during the full fluid stage? Or do I? What do you keto folks think?

Hope I don't sound too nuts , I guess I'm a bit anxious with my surgery coming up and just want to make sure I do this right, right out from the gate.

Hope everyone is having a great long weekend!

My meal plan also included Greek yogurt, and I had 1 a day at lunch so I wouldn't feel too awkward about sitting in the break room with my coworkers not eating anything while I was still working pre-op. I did use fairlife milk with my shakes. I didn't have applesauce at all, and instead of soup I had Unjury chicken soup flavored protein for a savory option (I mixed that one with warm water). It tasted pretty decent. Other than that, I just drank a lot of water and 0 cal drinks. Honestly, after the first couple of days once you get over the carb withdrawal, you get a little apathetic about what you're eating and you might find that you're fine just having 2-3 protein shakes and water...otherwise you just end up obsessing over what you can and can't have.

Yes, I do need to be careful about getting too obsessive. I might just end up sticking to shakes to keep things easy. I'll have to look up the Unjury protein soups, sounds interesting. Thanks for you help!

I don't really see much benefit in limiting carbs at this stage. Avoid sugary liquids like soda of course and juice, but you are already limiting a lot of things on the liquid.

Thanks, mershmellow. I think I'm going to plan to try and reduce the carbs, but when the time comes, if the protein fluids go down easier with a bit of carbs so be it. I guess the most important thing is getting the fluids and protein in.

I always did protein shakes in almond milk to reduce carbs. If I used soup, I'd make it from scratch to control the sugars. I had sugar free popsicles. Not a lot of variety for me in the liquid stage, which was fine for me!

Thanks, Gwen. Yep, I'm thinking I'll stick with almond milk for the shakes. SF popsicles will be great, especially since we are in the middle of a heat wave in my area right now!

The popsicles are nice since you can crunch on them too :D

I made some of those SF jello and crystal lite popsicles a few days ago, they're delicious but so difficult to get out of the darn holder! So I think I'm going to buy a big honkin' box of popsicles from the store and not spend 10 minutes running them under ho****er and banging them on the kitchen counter, lol

In the early days post-op, I'd made popsicles with full fat plain greek yogurt and syntrax fuzzy navel protein powder. They were yummy and "full liquid."
