I actually brought very lose loungewear to wear instead of hospital gowns after surgery...they can disconnect and reconnect the IV so you can get dressed quasi-normal, actually. I hate wearing hospital gowns, tho. It made it easier to walk around. If you don't feel well don't worry about it though. I've had multiple abdominal surgeries and I know that I will use any excuse to not walk, so I make sure to be comfy after.

It was a bit harder to wipe after the first surgery. After the second, not really, and BMs are low-volume for a while anyway. Be cautious about cross contamination and don't touch your incisions after or get anything on them. I had my period the day of my revision (thanks jerkface body) and they have literally seen everything at the hospital so don't even worry if that happens. I was still profoundly ticked off, lol.

As for it being a mistake, my only regret was not getting surgery earlier...and I say that having had to get a revision for GERD.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
