OH Powers That Be:
Where do you find the people who you feature on the front OH Page? Both for the pictures and the stories?
I'm wondering because I don't recall ever seeing a story or picture of anyone who actually posts - so I'm wondering where these people come from!
Thanks.

I have thought the same thing a few times. No one is anyone I recognize as regular posters, or even once in awhile posters. One I think in the whole reel.
I was featured in some before and after WLS story they had back in 2015. Is that what you are talking about? Just putting that out there because it was one of the biggest thrills of my life to actually be on there.
WLS 10/28/2002 Revision 7/23/2010
High Weight (2002) 240 Revision Weight (2010) 220 Current Weight 115.
The only one I recall is karenp8 who had her story on a while back.
HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.
I was on quite a while ago. I think it was triggered by putting a before/after picture in my profile and making it public? Kathy S. asked me to write something up.
I just found it: http://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/before-after-vsg-with-li zjustwantshealth
Liz 5'3" HW: 219 SW: 185 GW: 125 LW: 113 Desired maintenance range: 120-125 CW: 119ish
Mine was a few years ago now (I was able to find it though...http://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/before-after-rny-with-ke lly).
Hi Gwen,
The featured journey stories reach us in multiple ways; this can include through OH staff reach-out, self-submission, and through a recommendation from a surgeon's office. Forum posting is not required, we have featured ObesityHelp members that are active forum posters, as well as those that opt to utilize the website in other ways, i.e. groups system, journaling, goals system, and article readers. The ObesityHelp community also extends beyond the ObesityHelp website, including our various social media outlets and ObesityHelp National Conference attendees.
The B&A photos that are on the homepage without the story are all 100% self-submitted and can be submitted right through the ObesityHelp member profile. There are settings that allow the member to decide if they want to be included in the public gallery, their surgeon's OH profile gallery and if they'd like to give permission for print and electronic media. You can access those settings directly on your OH profile.
If you, or any bariatric surgery post-op, would like to share your journey story as an article, you can find submission instructions here.

Thanks, Member Services! (I.e., Kathy, I assume?) I was curious and I appreciate you solving my curiosity!
