Hobbies before and after WLS?

I am curious if any of you have picked up new hobbies since WLS?

my hobbies before for me were usually seated and didn't require a lot of physical exertion. (Chainmaille, think jewelry not armor.) I still have most of those as I am a craftaholic but I am feeling the itch to have a more active hobby too!

I did try paint pouring yesterday which was really cool! For my first time it came out great. I'm not great at gardening though I do mow and loathe it lol.

I'm with you on the mowing, I have to do that tonight. I have a friend who likes gardening so he put in the vegetable garden. I have tons of hobbies but haven't worked on them very consistently. Spinning- I actually have 2 spinning wheels, Weaving 8 Harness Floor Loom, 1-42" & 1-24", knitting, sewing -(used to be the only way I could afford clothes that fit) but I end up spending too much time on World of Warcraft, my favorite character is Tine she's a 110 level hunter.

My main hobby is shooting. Guns. To support that, I have another hobby of reloading cartridges. To support THAT hobby, I cast my own bullets out of lead wheel weights I procure from my local mechanic. It has not really changed since surgery. I love it. I continue with all of them.

I investigated a hobby of leatherworking to tide me over during my recovery period. It was (is) fun, but I haven't done a lot with it since I got back on my feet.

I was a professional woodworker for 25 years. I was very successful. I am retired now, but I have kept my shop intact. I haven't touched it for almost six months, but I foresee it becoming another hobby eventually. I have lots of things I would like to build.

Oh yeah. We live on 5 1/2 acres. I have lots of mowing. While it is not a hobby, it is work that is easy, and I can feel productive while riding around on the John Deere.

I miss my riding lawnmower, but my yard is too small now to really use it.

If I pu**** it is 90 minutes to two hours on the rider. And then comes the trimming.

My major new hobbies since WLS (4 years ago) is exercise -- yoga, aquarobics, walking, and FINALLY strength training. Finally! Those hobbies, which I indulge daily, use up a lot more calories than web-surfing. ;)

I live in the country on 25 acres that require a lot of work, so I "mow for a living" spring, summer, fall. I have a monster 6-foot zero-turn beast (orange paint -- those in the country know what that means) and a secondary 5-foot zero-turn mower in green paint (same reference). :)

So much to be done -- so little time! :)

Exercise is my big new hobby. I went from being largely sedentary to spending about 10-12 hours a week exercising.

And.. I went back to college. Being a full time college student means I have a lot of theoretical hobbies, but not a lot of actual ones.

I wouldn't have done either of these things if I hadn't lost weight. :)

Thanks! It was a huge step and still is. I'm really grateful that I finally found my "calling." Something that had never happened before I lost weight. :)
