First summer since weight loss surgery?
Hey Everyone
I can't believe June is almost gone and July 4th is on the way. Is this the first summer since your weight loss surgery? What are you looking forward to doing this summer? For me it was bike riding, walking without my left side going numb and yes, considered facing the dreaded mirror in the dressing room trying on bathing suits
Congratulations and what is on your summer "to do" list?

I'm so looking forward to spending time with my daughter and doing things with her. She's 3, so it can be hard keeping up! We just went to the zoo last week and spent 6 HOURS walking around. My feet hurt like Hades after that, but I had no joint pain, no back pain, and no leg pain, JUST feet! I was so happy.

It's not my first summer since surgery, but it is my first summer since reaching goal and feeling like I WANT to engage in summer activities. I recently bought my first bathing suit in over 30 years, and am attending a pool party on July 8th at the home of one of my BFFs. I'm excited and nervous, but I used to LOVE swimming...THAT I'm super looking forward to!!!
I love that Cathy! Way to go Don't laugh but when I was trying on bathing suits for the first time in so many years I kept taking photos to see what I looked like as what I saw in the mirror just didn't register. Sigh, those body imagine issues stay with us... Have a great time and feel proud of what you accomplished

It's my first summer. No big plans or vacations but I can do my chores without dying in the heat! It's a huge change!

this is my first summer since WLS...nowhere near goal yet but -75lbs and feeling a lot better physically and confidence-wise. We have a little free beach 2 blocks from our house that we never used til this year- I also have a 3 year old daughter and she LOVES the beach so we go there every day it's nice and we dont have other commitments. it is nice not feeling as self conscious in a bathing suit (I wont say i feel great but I don't feel as terrible as I would have last year)...She also keeps me on my toes and definitely looking forward to going to the zoo and some other walking excursions we have planned this summer. also our family vacation in August that I actually DID get a new swimsuit for!

OMGOSH, I LOVE the beach! Enjoy it as it's a gift! Just think of all the things you can do with your little one now that you have lost 75 pounds Way to go!
We had an above ground pool for years and if you climbed up the ladder all the neighbors could see you over the fence. Sure, like they had nothing better to do than wait for Kathy's big butt to get in the pool. But I was paranoid about being so fat I would look all around and then rush in the water, hoping no one saw me. Geez I was messed up LOL
