How long did it take your brain to get on board?

I too had 6 months of nutritionist visits and I got on board pretty quickly. Probably by the 2nd month. I knew after my VSG I wouldn't be able to eat the way I used to and decided not to wait until after surgery to make the changes. Admittedly, I slipped every once in a while. And I still do now. But I immediately get back on track. By slipping, I mean having a meal or snack that I know I shouldn't have, not a day of unhealthy eating. You have to be committed to the new lifestyle if you want lifelong results. Take this time to make your adjustments. I think waiting until after surgery will make the transition harder because while you will be physically prepared, you won't be as prepared mentally.
