I use the Low carb/no carb Isopure a few times a week and mix it with 8oz of unsweetened almond milk. Love the taste and texture no gritty aftertaste or anything like that. Tastes like a milk shake to me.
The Dutch Chocolate and Vanilla are my favorites.
Thank you so much for your response!
I'm thinking of trying the Coffee or Espresso flavors, but I've had bad experiences with some protein powders tasting really nasty, so I thought I'd get the opinion of a group of people whose opinions I value - fellow WLS people! These flavors can only be purchased in a 3 pound size. The low carb and high protein is what first got my attention.
I've never had the coffee or espresso, but I would imagine they are pretty good. The nice thing about Isopure is that I just put it in a mixer bottle and shake it. Never had any lumps or unmixed powder.
If you purchase it at GNC and do not like it for what ever reason they have a 30 day money back guarantee no questions asked. I want to try the toasted coconut, but they are always sold out.

Generally, people have WILDLY different opinions about protein powders and shakes. For any variety out there, there will be folks who love it, and others who absolutely hate it.
If you're curious about any particular type, you can see if any vitamin shops sell sample packs. A lot of them will sell single-serving packages so you can try a new kind without buying a whole tub.
Regarding the nutrition info, for any kind you get, you'll want 10+ g protein per 100 calories, and remember that you should try to stay low-carb during the weight-loss phase. Many people stick to under 25, others are a bit more lax and allow 40g per day.
Whey protein isolate is absorbed best by the body, followed by soy. Those kinds are probably your best picks.
