Thinking I know it all
Been there done something like that. I had a ct-scan that showed me is "full of ****". Plus some other issues. And I was having a BM every day. But I guess it was not a complete one.
Since then I made sure I get good BM almost every day. It is a lesson I never forget.

I am so glad you are here. Even when I don't listen all the time.
what you have experienced does help others. I am glad yoU share and that you help and don't say I told you so.
I have been doing two scoops of miralax daily now. And making sure I drink enough liquids.
3Bassethounds,
I have reactive hypoglcemia, My lowest recorded blood sugar while talking was 19. I had it BEFORE surgery ( Gastric bypass/colon resection, etc 2 decades ago.) I was in early 20's and Dr scared me into constipation, told me" if i did not control hypoglycemia I would be insulin dependent in 5 years". I began a diet diary and tight blood sugar monitoring. I began noting what gave me reactive episodes and avoiding those.
My Carb limit is 50 Grams a day, Protein intake goal is 90 grams...as long as I maintain between 90-110,... I am not hungry. My fat intake is low, I do not tolerate much... I have found if I do heavy exercise or increase activity quickly -I must increase carbs, by one serving with a good quality protein(.2 servings if possible).. eggs, peanut butter, almond butter, a protein shake, that is balanced with a serving of carbs w/protein. all are good choices for me, for people that can tolerate it 6 oz of milk, or cheese,.....If out in public and nothing else available I will drink one cup of 1/2 strength powerade.w/ water. to get me to a protein.
Symptoms with reactive hypoglycemia is about how FAST your sugar drops. The quicker the drop the worse the symptoms.
It is a precursor to diabetes. Congratulations you have taken the first step to avoiding full blown insulin dependent diabetes. Now you need to try to watch to see what causes any episodes... possibly a heavy carb load ( for you) My trigger point was one and a half diabetic servings of carbs... and serving of sweet peas and corn at the same meal would send my blood sugar on a high , followed immediately by a rapid drop..
Like someone else has stated, if you realize you have eaten a" bad choice for you".. if you can get a protein in asap it tends to minimize the drop. a peice of cheese or tablespoon of peanut butter.work best for me... If very full, get up and walk and sip 3-4 oz milk, as soon as possible.
I never had back pain or kidney pain with hypoglycemia.
That sounds more like dehydration which CAN cause constipation... so it sounds like to me you are having a combination issue. My constipation only requires my 2 cups of coffee in the morning..
Sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia to me as well. I get these episodes if I eat too many carbs in the AM without adequate protein and almost always happens in the morning. Symptoms are so scary... profuse sweating and shakes. I'll eat peanuts or something high protein to get back to normal, but I'll get really tired and have to lie down for awhile.
I had RH symptoms before surgery but never as bad. I also learned a lot about RH through this wonderful podcast. It's episode 082.

I hear you about getting complacent and listening! I'm two years out (today, actually) and always learning that lesson myself.
Take good care,

I'm so sorry that you got so sick. I'm glad that you got some help & are getting better.
Yes it's an extremely humbling experience to think that when you think you know it all, or know better than most, you come to find out that you really don't know anything at all. Some people don't or won't realize that it's not a personal flaw to come to that conclusion.
