Can you shave the day before surgery?

Has anyone been told to not shave before surgery?

I'm kinda thinking it's not a good idea to do it in case of nicks or micro-nicks.

I wasnt advised on this one way or another. If the doc has no instruction- just do what makes sense to you.

I got a pedicure yesterday and I'm going to get my brows and lip waxed today. All way overdue. I know I'm overthinking stuff. I'm getting a bit freaked out as it gets closer and closer. 4 days!

Peachie, has anyone ever told you that you look like Michelle Obama?

I'm sure you hear that all the time. :)

I've heard that I resemble her (usually with certain wigs) and I consider it a HUGE compliment! I have a woman crush on her.

I think Michelle Obama and you have the combination of physical good looks with intelligence and kindness, which creates loveliness.

You remind me that I've been putting off getting my eyebrows down. I'm sure the caterpillars love being in full force, but they need to go! Toes need a refresher too!

I just double-checked the instructions I was given, and they say nothing about shaving, so I assume it's OK. I don't think minor nicks would be a problem, since they aren't very deep. But it might be a good idea not to, for the reasons you mention.

My surgeon told me it would be a good idea to trim my beard real close, just in case they needed to use extreme measures to keep me breathing. I did. It grew back. The difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about three weeks.

I shaved the morning of surgery, nobody cared either way. Mine was in February, and normally I'm a Wookiee in the wintertime, but I thought having smooth legs under that sexy hospital gown would make me feel a bit better.

I say shave the day before. I know when we get pedicures that we should not shave before them.

I know two totally different things. But still I wouldn't shave the day of surgery.
