Shaving before surgery?

Can you shave the day before surgery?
Has anyone been told to not shave before surgery?
I'm kinda thinking it's not a good idea to do it in case of nicks or micro-nicks.

I got a pedicure yesterday and I'm going to get my brows and lip waxed today. All way overdue. I know I'm overthinking stuff. I'm getting a bit freaked out as it gets closer and closer. 4 days!
Peachie, has anyone ever told you that you look like Michelle Obama?
I'm sure you hear that all the time. :)
I think Michelle Obama and you have the combination of physical good looks with intelligence and kindness, which creates loveliness.

You remind me that I've been putting off getting my eyebrows down. I'm sure the caterpillars love being in full force, but they need to go! Toes need a refresher too!

My surgeon told me it would be a good idea to trim my beard real close, just in case they needed to use extreme measures to keep me breathing. I did. It grew back. The difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about three weeks.
I shaved the morning of surgery, nobody cared either way. Mine was in February, and normally I'm a Wookiee in the wintertime, but I thought having smooth legs under that sexy hospital gown would make me feel a bit better.
