Turmeric for inflammation
I am under a PM (pain management care) doc. I try to get 2 SI joints injections a year plus a 2 spine epidural per year. Plus exercise, plus acupuncture and chiropractor adjusting care.
For me it is critical to get all of those. It is not one or the other. it is a team effort

Not sure how old you are, but a lot of times hormones can create really high inflamatory condition.
A while back I realized that anytime I eat bread - my ankles and my feet get swollen.
I know. I should stay away from it. Yeah. It is easier said than done.

I'll be 40 in a month, and yes my hormones do seem to affect my inflammation during my cycle. thats why I am hoping the Mirena might be helpful.

I have gotten a fair amount of relief from back pain or neck pain using Salon Pas patches. They smell just like Bengay so I suspect they are a similar product but they were selling them in bulk last time I was at Costco. The patches combined with extra strength Tylenol got me through the last episode when I threw out my back (and really missed my old friend Naproxen)!
I was curious what those were, so I googled it and I read that they should not be used by anyone allergic to NSAIDs. So I take that to mean it contains a topical NSAID, and is subsequently not good for us post-op, sadly.

You are correct. Per the manufacturer's info page, the patches contain:
- Menthol 3% (Topical analgesic)
- Methyl salicylate 10% (NSAID*) (Topical analgesic)
The latter is a topical NSAID and should be avoided by WLS patients.
