Hit Original Goal... Progress Pics and Update

Hi all! So today I hit a pretty big milestone: I reached my original weight-loss goal. :) At 5"9' and 202 pounds, I am no longer considered obese on the BMI scale. For some this may seem like a modest goal, but this is the first time as an adult that my BMI is not obese/MO/SMO, so for me it feels pretty huge.

My 36th birthday is next week, and for the first time in many birthdays my health is improving instead of degrading. I am more engaged and living my life instead of watching it go by from the observers bench. I am in much less pain! My kids are still young and I am so thankful I get this time with them.

I'm nearly 7 months out and know that I am still comfortably in the honeymoon period, so I'm looking forward to setting my next goal. The past year has been incredibly challenging and life altering and while I know there are many more challenges to come, I can only feel grateful for what I have accomplished with the help of surgery, my family, and all of you. (and you can tell how happy my husband Nick is from the photo!)

I still have a ways to go. I have yet to make exercise a routine part of my life, and I am ready to feel stronger and more vital, so that is the next step.

Thanks to all of you who share your stories, your advice, your questions, your struggles, your victories... It's been an important part of this experience for me and I am indebted to you all.
