Wow, what a fantastic thread. I'm so happy reading how the assist from WLS helped you u load the consuming mental load of being obese. That is actually one of my main hopes for my VSG surgery next month. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I'm sure mine will be repeats of things other people have posted, but here we go:

  • My auto-immune went into remission (I knew it was possible, but I wasn't counting on it)
  • Flying became fun again
  • I could do the airport fast-walk 15 gates and back without being winded because hubby dropped me at my departing gate instead of where TSA is.
  • I had energy to go walk the beach after class when I was in CA for training
  • I don't have to travel with a CPAP anymore
  • I can do my own pedicures (though I still like having someone else do it! LOL)
  • I can keep up with my fast-walking boss including carrying on a conversation
  • I'm not winded walking from my parking assignment to my desk at my new job (3 buildings over)
  • Clothing shopping is fun again
  • Thrift and resale shops actually have stuff in my size now
  • I still pull pants out of the closet in my current size and think there's no way they'll fit, and get a little thrill when they do
  • cute workout clothes in my size
  • my feet don't hurt after a day in heels - OK they do hurt a little, but nothing like the awful pain I used to get
  • people see me for the first time in a couple of years, and they don't recognize me.

It's literally like having a new life.
