Plus, clothes at smaller sizes are so much cheaper. Good clothes at a plus sized store, the only plus sized clothes that would hold up, are insanely expensive.

THIS!! It makes me crazy how high the plus size tax is on quality clothes. Way more rhanjust the cost of more fabric!

Yes!! And why do they have the smallest selection?!? I had a mini anxiety attack the first time I realized I could shop in the non-plus sizes--it was a virtual sea of racks and I had no idea where to start! LOL! I remember when I needed to buy a dress to attend a wedding. I was in the store for an hour and had to call my mom to come and help me because I was so overwhelmed. A good problem to have....

Before my surgery my weight would go up and down by huge amounts very quickly. If I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a long time, my first thought was, Oh no, how much weight have I gained since the last time I saw them? Yesterday I ran into a woman I used to work with and I was just simply happy to see her. I wasn't thinking about myself, I just wanted to know how she was enjoying her retirement.

So many of these responses ring true! The freedom is life changing!

last week on our Florida vacation I went to two theme parks and a water park and never once had to worry about fitting on the rides. I walked on average 6 miles a day. The water park was a huge deal because you have to climb lots of steps to go down the slides. Before the weight loss I wouldn't have even attempted it (I avoided stairs at all cost, much less climbing them in a swimsuit, in 90 degree heat, in front of hundreds of people). I was able to be there fully participating with Nick and our kids instead of following them around watching them play. An amazing difference!

The best unexpected benefits, for me, were pregnancy-related. I got pregnant on our first cycle trying-- I never even had a period after getting my IUD yanked! I also had an incredibly healthy pregnancy with no complications. Blood pressure was fine, no gestational diabetes, zero bloating. Delivery was scary (little dude had the umbilical cord wrapped tightly around his neck), but he's perfectly healthy! Plus I now have all sorts of energy to chase him around the playground, take him swimming, and do all sorts of fun stuff.

If I was still 300lb, there's no way I could have done this!
