NSV - Keeping up with my new boss...
So I got an awesome new job, and today was my first day in the new office. (Yay!)
But that's not my NSV.
My new boss and I had a lunch meeting offsite, and he offered to drive so we didn't have to get both get our cars out of the garages. I don't have my parking space assigned yet, so I just paid the daily rate at the closest one. Come to find out, assigned parking is in one of 3 different garages, none of which are the one closest to our building. Boss' garage was 2 buildings over, though there was a skybridge at least.
Boss walks FAST. I was in heels. I got over 3,000 steps on my fitbit just to and from his garage space.
2 years ago, I'd have been huffing and puffing and feeling like I was going to die, and would have had to ask him to slow down.
Today I not only kept up with him, but carried on a conversation the entire time. Wasn't super easy, but I did it without looking like I was straining, so that's a huge win for me.
My fitness level isn't where I want it to be (yet) but this was a solid showing of how far I've come.
Gosh, I love my sleeve!

That's great! What a good feeling to know what you're doing in that moment is something you wouldn't have even fathomed accomplishing in the past.

Thanks for all the congratulations and good thoughts. I'm a project/program manager for essentially a technology think tank for a large hospital network. I've got a LOT to learn, but I'm loving it. I've come home exhausted and pretty much fallen straight into bed after dinner. :)
I got my parking assignment, and it's 1,300 steps (or so) from my parking space to my desk (3 buildings over, but there's a sky bridge). I'll definitely be getting more steps in every day. The fact that I can now do it without being winded is fantastic.
