Failure

So....I went to Wegman's this morning, and I checked out the Core Power shakes that have 42 grams of protein. The stats are a little bit better than the stats I posted yesterday. The fat count is about the same though. I'll upload the photos shortly.

You don't really need to care about fat. Calories first, protein second, carbs third. The fat amounts will fall where they may.

Counts are much, much better on this one. And how does it taste? Still as good?

The flavor sounds delicious, but that's WAAAAY too much sugar for me. The vanilla one you posted is much better!

I only like the premier chocolate (haven't tried the two new flavors yet) but for 1g of sugar (5g of carbs) and 30 grams of protein, it's been the best, in my opinion. Plus...it tastes like chocolate milk! :-)

If you do like the fruit flavors, a friend of mine just got a case of the Peaches and Cream and she LOVES it!

I ran a 10k with my surgeon and at the end of the race he said I should get some protein in me. They were giving the Core Power drinks away at the finish line and he went and grabbed one for each of us. I got one sip in before he grabbed it out of my hand. He read the nutrition panel and said it was too much sugar, that if I was going to have that much sugar at one time on his watch, it wouldn't be from a shake. I'm not sure if it was his overall opinion, or because he knows I dump, but it would be too much sugar for me.

I want to say Thank You to everyone for setting me straight. I thought this was such a good thing, but I now see that it's not. And a special thanks to Laura, who pointed out that with my DS revision, too much sugar will (and has) cause gas and diarrhea. Been there, done that, and I have no desire to revisit.

So I thank you all for your support and encouragement. Hmmmm....maybe I did title this post correctly, because if I continued to drink these, it would definitely be a Failure!

That's so funny! I thought that was what you meant when you posted the nutrition label...
