How much time did you take off work?
I am scheduled for a revision from VSG to RNY in 6 weeks. I legit took off 6 weeks for my VSG but that was 7 years ago. I didn't need the 6 weeks but I cannot recall when I began to feel better after the surgery.
I plan on doing at least 2 but I am so unsure. My surgeon said most can return after 2 weeks off. Wouldn't mind reading how long others took off and their experiences on how they felt. Thanks
My surgeon gave me 4 weeks, but I could have probably gone back after 2 if I needed to (couldn't get time off approved or whatever), but I was tired easily. I was definitely good after 3, and utterly restless and bored being off that 4th week.
I have a desk job if that helps. No lifting, and only light getting up and moving around to the fax or copy machine sort of things.

Back after two weeks was tired and needed a nap a couple nights when I got home. Could of had more time if I'd needed it. I too have a desk job. I was told barring complications 2 weeks should be fine.

My surgeon said 4-6, I took 4; at the end of my first week I was so tired but this is the end of week 2 and I'm fine.
Looking back, it might have been better to ease into it or do part days from home the first week just as getting back into routine vs the50 hour week I plunged into, lol.

Don't expect to do a ton of partying on your "vacation." I can't speak for others' experiences, but I was still taking daily naps and generally feeling completely exhausted up until the 6 week point.

Ha - I'm not much of a party animal these days.
I was thinking more of road day trips with my three Bernese Mountain Dogs...providing the one who has cancer is still with me by then.
I took 3 and needed every bit of it because I was feeling very fatigued and wasn't sleeping well until closer to a month out.
