If you haven't seen it yet, MFP has had a massive data breach. E-mail information and passwords have been compromised. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/29/under-armour-stock-falls-aft er-company-admits-data-breach.html

Change your password asap and if you share that password with anything else, would probably change that too.

What are they going to steal? My menus for the last 89 days? Just kidding, I'd be worried if I were a paying member because they'd maybe have my credit card number.

Yeah I went to change my password, could not find a password, and then thought, what could they possibly want with my menu anyway? Used to pay but there is nothing to steal anymore.

They have your email address, so if you used the same password on MFP as you did other places (ie: like banking info!) then you could be in trouble.

OMG, I work in IT and manage a Service Desk (both old and now new job) and you have no idea. Even 18-year-olds do this on the regular. Pick one password and use it for everything ever. I started using LastPass a few months because it's easier than coming up with secure random passwords on your own and makes changing them a breeze.

For anything with financial, medical, or anything truly important, I use complex individual passwords. For all those other websites and places that require a password, I use the same basic one. Otherwise I would have God only knows how many to keep track of.

Yes, that's why I use LastPass. It keeps track of them for you and all you need to remember is the password to your vault.

It sounds similar to one I use. Password Commander, or something like that. One complex password to get in, then the other passwords inside that.

But ... but ... but .... What happens when "they" hack into LastPass and get ALL your passwords?

Serious question. Really. How is LastPass allegedly protected better than Facebook?
