Worst WLS advice. EVER.
Yep, same nurse. After my ulcer convo with her, I think she may have finally understood that I'm more well informed than the majority of her post-ops.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Some of the worst advice I've seen comes from WLS patients who are a few months out and know it all. "It worked for me, so it must apply to EVERYBODY!"
Highlights include:
- It's totally OK to drink wine after surgery. "Everything in moderation," right?
- You can break a stall by eating a candy bar, or by increasing your calories, because "starvation mode" is totally a thing.
- Vitamins are completely unnecessary. "My labs are fine at 6 months out and supplements are a waste of money!"
- Genepro protein is a great way to hit your minimums! (No, it's not. It's physically impossible to get that much protein in such a small volume. It's a scam!)
- You can eat whatever you like, including popcorn and tacos, in the first few weeks immediately after surgery. Just chew it really well and you'll be fine!

What? Was that someone's real advice? Oh my goodness. I feel bad for them, honestly. How did they even want to eat that? After my surgery I didn't want anything at all. I couldn't stomach much at first anyway!
