I agree with you. My iron, specifically my ferritin, dropped using the patch. I absorb everything else well and show no downward trends with any other values. I've gone back to oral iron in the hopes that i'll stop the slide.

just goes to show, everyone is different.

i have used the patches for iron and calcium for close to two years and they are the only form of delivery that hS allowed me to maintain even close to normal.

TessieLoo the patches seem to work differently by person and by vitamin/mineral so I totally get what you're saying. And you are definitely spot on that someone can have normal labs whatever they do or don't do for the first couple of years.

Glad you caught that. =)

  • My recovery and weightloss was easy so anyone who has problems is an attention seeking loser.
  • No need to take vitamins as I eat everything in moderation so no need. I'm less than 3-5 years post op.
  • The vets are mean. I'm 4 weeks out and can dispense advice regarding your lifestyle/food choices which will confirm everything you want to hear.
  • I'm 6 weeks out and drank 3 ****tails. I'm still alive, so alcohol is just fine as a food group in your first year.

I weep for these poor overburdened livers. They are already breaking down enough fat to make a person. They need a break!

I am quoting you because this is perhaps the BEST statement ever reference drinking after WLS.

Most advice from nutritionists is horrible. Especially eat more carbs, eat more calories, and eat until satisfied. All of those things got me TO morbid obesity. They weren't going to get me OUT of it.

I have several things that were. I thought, were pretty bad.

1) You're taking the easy way out. Why can't you just lose it the old fashion way? Well, my metabolism was so out of wack that losing was near impossible.

2) You're going to gain it all back plus more. Well, I gained it all back on every other diet I was ever on.

And:

3) You're going to die and/or serious complications(bed ridden, etc). Well, I did have complications because stitching broke. I was able to regain my health. IT MADE ME STROGER! I wouldn't change a thing. And, I don't regret descision.

I have a life that I never thought I could have and love every second of it.
