In a nutshell, your supplements need to get you to 200% RDA on all of your vitamins and minerals. Flintstones don't do that.

I made a sheet to compare them, item-by-item, to the recommendations. You can view it here:

Flintstones with the RYN (malabsorption) would cause deficiencies. You had the VSG (no malabsorption) so not a issue for you.

If you look at the ASMBS guidelines Flinstone vitamins don't even contain all the required vitamins. So not a matter of malabsorption. You can't absorb what's not there no matter which surgery you have.

Gummy vitamins do not have minerals in them and Flintstones do not have all of the necessary vitamins an adult needs. Compare them side by side with a regular Centrum, then you decide.

My nutritionist told me to take these twice a day

Nutritionists are dodgy sources for post ops, unfortunately.

As Julie explained, these are not nutritionally complete.

That's proof enough that your nutritionist isn't bothering to keep up with strides in science and research in the bariatric community.

Worst advice - " listen to your nutritionist" and best advice - " listen to the vets" , my goal is long term health and success and I do not feel that listening to my nutritionist and following my program is the best path to "long term " success.

My experience- Some people absorb them well some do not. I have been on the multi patch over 2 years no problems with labs. The calcium patch almost 2 years and on my last two bone scans my T-score went up. My D actually got too high on the patch. The only one that doesn't seem in general to work as well is the iron.
