Your calories are fine for 10 days! I am over a year and stick around 700-800. 600 if I'm in a "meh food who needs it" mood.

I was only eating 200-300 calories at 10 days and was concentrating on getting at least 64 ounces of water. I wasn't eating 500 calories a day until almost 3 months out.

Water was and is still the most difficult thing for me to get in. Honestly, I have so much trouble with water. Before surgery I could guzzle it down, but I don't even think about it. I'm never thirsty and I don't get the signs of dehydration like chapped lips and dry skin. Unfortunately, I have to drink water on a timer, or I won't. Thank goodness for my watch to send me buzzes when its time to drink!

I always have a bottle with me and just keep sipping. I know that two bottles of water plus my coffees gets me up where I need to be. That's the only way I can make sure I get enough.

I also became lactose intolerant after RNY. I was able to find a LOT of dairy products, milk, yogurt, sour cream, margarine, butter, cheese that was all Lactose Free. It was my saving grace. Also, I found that if I took a Lactaid (Canada), before anything if I was unsure it had dairy in it, I was good.

If you think it's a lactose issue, try taking a lactaid pill. I had a problem with lactose after I revised to RNY (I had GERD that wasn't responsive to medication). It allowed me to have dairy, including yogurt, again. My lactose intolerance issue has now resolved, so it may be a temporary phase you're going through!

thanks everyone for the responses.

I've been doing well the past few days. Getting in over 80 ozs of water/liquid. And averaging 70 grams of protein.

i bought some of the protein clear drink, sooooo sweet! I have to water em down. I also do use fairlife milk and have had no issue with it. I think tomorrow i'll Get some lactaid and see if that'll help.

thanks for all the suggestions M

It may not be lactose intolerance - check the content of the items you're trying. All are very low in lactose compared to milk. If you feel it is lactose, try lactose-free products. You can get lactose-free milk and cottage cheese and yogurt.
