Need to Decide - Sleeve or RNY
There are lots of "RnY failed me" anecdotal reports out there.
There are even "DS failed me" reports, too.
And there are a brazillion reports that "WLS fails everyone." ;)
I'm sleeved. Nothing's failed me yet. Including me. :)

LOVE THIS!
I too believe that the failures in WLS isn't the surgery...it's the person. Of course, you need to duck and cover if you ever express that in any of the FB groups.
I waffled between VSG and RNY as well prior to surgery. I was on a PPI for heartburn and apparently had a hiatel hernia. Ultimately I was more comfortable with VSG as I was more nervous about long-term malabsorption and possible ulcers than potential heartburn problems. I am 2 years out and haven't had a single instance of heartburn, which doesn't guarantee I won't but so far so good. I have taken ibuprofen a couple of times in a low dose for a limited time with the ok of my doctor but in general they recommend that VSGers stay away from it for the most part.

Take it from someone who had that horrible band, it is absolutely nothing like the band. It is a stapling procedure where 80% of your stomach is excised. No banding or foreign structures are inserted. You are very misinformed.

I blocked the person who who you're responding to.
I haven't been here long, but I've been here long enough to know that I don't care to engage with that person.
Yes I've been seeing some pretty whack a doodle posts lately. I may follow suit at some point!
