You are completely right and thank you for the reminder! This is just the beginning and the time to focus on good habits not the scale.

26.2 pounds is awesome!! That is two 13 lb thanksgiving turkeys! I tell myself I'm going to stop weighing everyday, but I find my obsession with the scale keeps me focused (even though annoying). I continue to weigh everyday and sometimes twice a day. Congrats on your weightloss. You should be proud!

I like the Turkey measuring scale too, so many different ways to visualize it. I'm going to try to break the daily scale habit -- and only weigh on Saturday and Wednesday. Wish me luck!

I remember the (lady) patient st the Duke weight loss clinic who snuck out an entire roasted turkey between her legs . I have s LOT of sympathy ... it's horrible being hungry.

Great analogy. Another one is human beings. 26 pounds is approximately a 1-year-old child.

Great loss!!

26 lbs in 5 weeks is more than many of us (including myself) lost at this point in our WLS journeys. So if you're struggling to not compare your weight loss to others than you're better off not weighing yourself at all and just focusing on following your surgeon's plan 100%. I'd also recommend you take all of your measurements because that will give you data on your progress; sometimes the scale won't move but you will be losing inches off your body. Good luck!

I do need to do the measurements! Thanks for reminding me of that!

I had a similar epiphany when I was at the home center and picked up a 60 lb bag of concrete mix after losing roughly the same amount of weight. Wait till you get to that point!

I like your friend--she'll help you along this road! I averaged a loss of about 10 lbs per month for the year after my WLS, but my loss was not linear and I had a couple of times where I went weeks without losing (stalls?). I would get discouraged, then, boom 2 lbs down. Be kind to yourself and have faith in the process...it will work if you work it. Congratulations on your awesome work so far!!
