Ever feel like giving up on trying to have surgery?
Sounds like you are seriously depressed. I've been there. With "what's the point"?
Antidepressants may help. I may be like "fake it, till you make it".
There are a few options- really clean your diet and use Keto diet to help you with that.
Plus - in a meantime, start saving for WLS in another country- like Mexico.
Long term with load- maintenance- require being on a diet.
I can gain faster post op RNY, that I gained before the surgery. IMO it is a very hard work to maintain.
As Cher said in Moonstruck- "Snap out of it.."

"Failure is not falling down, It is not getting up once you fell... So pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again...."
I know it is difficult when you have been diligently working toward a goal and not getting there. I had to wait four years until I had insurance coverage for WLS, and paying out of pocket wasn't possible.
I wish I could say I used those four years to work on my issues that contributed to my obesity, but I did not.
I am swinging all the chickens that you are able to get coverage soon.
I fight badgers with spoons.

I've finished reading through your old posts and I didn't see any mention of this.
Have you appealed (through the surgeon you consulted with) to your insurance company? Have you appealed to your HR company for an exception?

Great question. I missed that completely.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
I assumed that they had the surgery before working at the OP's job, or that they get coverage through another source (partner, parents if younger than 26, etc.).

I could not get WLS covered in the States so I payed out of pocket in Mexico. I'm happy to talk to you about my experience if you are interested. I only had to wait a month after emailing my surgeon's office and I had a very safe experience.
