Period Problems

I know this can be common, but ever since I hit 30lbs of weight loss, my period won't stop. I am taking the pill but I have a feeling my pill is not fully being absorbed.

What method of birth control do you use?

I can't get an IUD and don't want an IUD, so that is out of the question.

All I know is you need to use SOMETHING or better yet somethingS !! People get pregnant after bariatric surgery at the literal drop of a hat... or trousers ! ONCE!

That literally happened to a friend of mine .. and she had three babies practically back to back. The last one was a total accident while taking the pill ... and seriously trying to be celibate while married .. because the second one was an accident too ( as was really t he first)

the only answer after that was to divorce her husband..literally.

Its not easy raising three little kids alone and getting a medical degree which what she's ( amazingly ) doing

I am single and very much a lesbian, so I am not too worried about pregnancy. Lol!

My birth control method is a tubal ligation and I love it. :D

That said, it's totally normal for periods to be all over the place after weight loss surgery due to hormone dumping. So.. yeah. Best to ask your OBGYN about what option is best for you!

I use the Nuvaring. I did the pills for a few months but they weren't absorbing well. I also didn't want an IUD and I'm liking the Nuvaring so far.

One thing to keep in mind is that body fat holds on to hormones, so you?re losing and all those stored up hormones are floating around and wreaking havoc. Years ago, I had the period that wouldn?t quit, but my doc put me on BC to bring it back under control. I wonder if the hormones released from your weight loss plus the ones from you BC are combining for an unholy witches brew of badness? You might need to adjust your dosage. Let us know how you get on!

I use the Nuvaring and I love it! Nothing to remember, and an even low dose. That being said, last month I started having a lot of break through bleeding so I'm thinking hormone dumping is definitely affecting my cycle.
