Just wanted to say Hi!
Hello everyone~
I found this place by searching whether or not I could have gum while using Optifast! Lol, had to kill that taste somehow. My surgery is scheduled for one week from today. I am nervous and excited all at one time and have been growing everyones posts for the past hour. Such an inspiration all of you are!
I'm have a Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, I couldn't find a group for that specific surgery unless I'm unfamiliar with the different acronyms and am just missing it. I can tell that this place is going to be a huge support system, so I just wanted to say HI!
Welcome and good luck on your surgery.
The forum for gastric bypass is this one: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/
Welcome! You're lucky to be so close to your big day and all that follows!
My name is Babette and I had a sleeve gastrectomy 7 years ago and am now prepping for a DS in April, but all of us are doing versions of the same thing: taking a great metabolic step towards wellness. That's what matters.
You'd probably get the most support from the RNY board: that's the acronym for your surgery.
Best wishes!
Good Luck on your surgery! Keep reading nad keep coming back. Daily support really helps. On the RNY Board there is a daily menu thread. Check it out.

Welcome to OH! I started reading everything here right after my first surgical consult (2.5 years ago). It has been my first line of support and information in addition to my surgeon. I credit the support here for making it past my goal and staying there!
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery! The liquid phase can be hard but it will be over soon.
Welcome to OH!
One of the nurses on the bariatric post-op unit recommended this website and I can tell you that it is my greatest source of support!
I had my VSG (sleeve gastrectomy) on 12/7 and my total weight loss is about 90 lbs. I still have about 100 to go, BUT would be thrilled to just get into the high 100's!
Good luck with your upcoming journey.
