Food porn.. how does it make you FEEL and now post-op ACT?

I eat between 1700 and 2100 calories a day to maintain so I don't think of myself as constantly dieting or eating pretty much nothing!
That said, I do get irritated by greasy food ads and by the fact that driving past a Dunkin Donuts makes me want to eat a donut in the worst way. I find that as quickly as my head was turned toward the junk food, it passes if I occupy my mind elsewhere.
We were driving down the interstate yesterday and I saw a Dunkin billboard for their Butter Nut Toffee flavor and my gut said: "YES I WANT THAT!" I don't even like Dunkin coffee!

I have noticed that overall, when talking with my friends about diets and eating healthy, it seems my older friends are the ones that are all about low fat substitutes, potatoes, rice and things along that line...
The younger friends I have all understand the concept that proteins and fats are the way to go to stay full, keeps your skin softer and younger, and fills you up for hours at a time!
As far as commercials go, I rarely ever crave anything fast food. I stopped eating that years ago. But when I see a juicy burger ad, I do envision it on a plate, sans the bun topped with bacon and cheeses... Mmmmmm...
The only time I find myself looking at fast food commercials with any interest at all is when I've been eating bad and the carb monster is on my back.
When we grocery shop, we buy 3-4 pounds of butter and bacon at a time... and we all get jittery if there's not plenty of back up in the freezer.

I've noticed the same thing about the generational divide of "fat is bad" vs. "fat is good." Of course not all older people have held on to the outdated beliefs about fat avoidance, but it's definitely more prevalent. My mom always boggles that I don't care about fat in my diet.

I remember as a teen being on a diet where I ate a box of Runts (remember those?) and my mother was totally cool with it because they were fat-free.

My roommate had a bag of Runts once. It must have been 5-10 pounds. If I ever see another Runt again, it'll be too soon ;)
