Has anyone ever used a dating site for WLS people?

Hi

I was reading the great article on the home page about dating after WLS. It got me to thinking wouldn't the perfect match be someone that has walked in your shoes? In the same place with eating, working out and staying at goal as a priority in life? You would not have to feel uncomfortable about scars from PS or skin issues?

Googling I see there are a few out there but wondered if anyone has tried it and liked it or not?

Thanks,

Kathy

Lol my husband and I are having WLS in consecutive years. His was last May and mine is in 2 weeks. It's amazing to have a partner in this but if I were single, I don't think I'd specifically try to find another WLS person, but I'd definitely call it a deal breaker if they weren't supportive and understanding about it.

That is amazing support to do it together. My husband was very supportive through my entire journey but there were still stuff he didn't get since he didn't have surgery...

I can totally get that. I guess if I for any reason found myself single after this, I just wouldn't want to limit my dating field to only guys who've had surgery. There's a lot of good fish in the sea, even if they won't ever "get" all of it. I don't get some things about my husband that are completely not WLS related either lol

One of the things I see often posted is "how" do I explain to him/her about all the skin/scars? If they had been there done that, no explanation needed....

Totally agree. It's really just a matter of preference. Knock on wood I won't have to worry about dating any time soon! It's stressful enough without WLS issues.

I would just stick to a normal dating site and openly share my WLS in my 'About me'. It would be great to find someone who also got WLS, but that can be somewhat rare.

I love that you put it out there and then they know about your surgery and if they have any issues, move on
