Protein supplement

What protein supplement do you like? Where do u purchase it?
I keep some RTD Premier Protein shakes on hand for when I am on the run. I can buy them at the grocery store. I like the Syntrax Nectar powders best though. I get them either from Amazon or Lucky Vitamin. If you haven't used them before, I suggest trying the sampler pack and find out which of the 17 flavors you like and then buying a large container.

I'm also a Syntrax fan. I get mine through Vitamin Shoppe.
Unjury products are also very good, but you have to order them through their Web site (they're not available through stores or amazon). I haven't used them in quite awhile since you have to order a lot to get free shipping - but their products, again, are very good. They also have sample packs.
I like Optimum Nutrition double rich chocolate protein powder - I mix it in unsweetened original Almond Milk using a Blender Bottle (which is a bottle with a whisk ball in it).
I've never liked any of the ready to drink protein drinks I've tried.
The best protein supplement for me is MEAT :D

For some reason, I haven't really enjoyed any of the powders that I have tried. They aren't awful....just not something I want. My favorite RTD protein is premier protein. It's pretty popular, I think partly because you can buy it at Wal-Mart, Costco, and Sam's for such an amazing price. The chocolate is my favorite, but I also like the caramel and vanilla as a high-protein coffee creamer.
My two favorites are the Syntrax Nectar (partly because it mixes well with lemonade crystal light for a peach lemonade flavor) and Quest protein powder. The Quest is vanilla (and caseinate mixed with whey, just letting you know,) so I can throw a tablespoon of PBfit and an ounce or two of banana for a full meal feeling with a little extra flavor, protein, and potassium.
Gwen makes an excellent point. Once you're eating, meat is the best protein supplement as far as food. I try to stay with tilapia, turkey, and chicken because the protein is super high and the calories and fat are low. Lowfat cheeses and Greek Yogurt are also excellent sources of protein.

Everybody's tastes vary a lot, so your best bet is to get a bunch of sample packets and try them all. Your tastes will likely change after surgery, so don't stock up on anything if you're still pre-op.
Make sure you're getting whey protein isolate; that kind is absorbed best by our bodies.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is buying too much before surgery. What you love now you may hate after surgery. Stock up on samples and try them after surgery. For me I stuck with Premier protein and
Synthr-6
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery

I use Celebrate Vitamins and get my powders from them. All are very good. I was referred by a friend who uses them. These taste better than Premier. After one of those ready to drinks went bad, it scared me to look at what color it was. I don't drink those anymore, and I stick with my powder from Celebrate. I might try that Syntrax, though.
