Hair looks great! Nothing like a fresh new do to boost ones self esteem! Glad you are feeling better.

Hugs, Susan!! I'm glad you took the time to pamper yourself. I love your new do. The mental part is definitely the hardest, even when we are far out from surgery.

Winter is tough for me. I need the sun to help my mental state.

Love you cut. I used to do hair and hair like yours is so great to work with. It is nice and thick and hold its shape. You look wonderful.

You look younger and sassy in the after pictures. I love that hair cut on you Susan. You got this. There is so much you have overcome in the last few years.

I love the new hairdo,Susan! You have made so many changes in the last few years,Susan, but like all of us--you aren't "fixed". It's a battle every day to choose to take care of ourselves. I'm so glad there are inspirational people like you that struggle alongside me. I'm proud of you for getting yourself back on track!

Thank you for your support. I know I am in a better place than I was four years ago.

Way better place.

Your posts always incite so much thought in my brain... all of it good, and sometimes they make me face things I've been avoiding...

I went to the gym last week just to get a tan... because I'm struggling with some anxiety/depression right now. (I also got on the treadmill and walked/ran to try to get the anxiety under control)... I think light therapy helps me, and while I know the tanning booths aren't the best at that, it's already in my budget. I'd love to add a more official means of light therapy one of these years during winter.

I think this time of the year is so hard on so many of us... good for you for seeing it and doing something about it!!

Your new haircut is sassy and fun! Just like you!

It's easy to fall into the comfortable... (lazy? or depression?)... leggings, forgoing makeup (if that's something that's important to you, and it is to me, I feel better about myself if I've taken the time to do my hair and face), and hibernating during this time of the year.

Those wake up calls mean a lot, especially when we listen and do something about it. Good job for doing just that!

For me the leggings made me lie to myself. I found myself doing one of my old behaviors were I thought someone put my clothes in the dryer and they were smaller because of that.

Getting my hair done was just part of my vanity. I will not wear makeup and be okay with it.

I started wearing makeup when I was young. Like 15 so it is one of those habits that is hard to break.

I started wearing make up early as well...

I just find that if I'm putting on my 'face', then I'm spending more time on 'me' and I feel better. Yes, vanity, but it's really no different than any other time I spend on myself... it all makes me feel better about me.

I do go on the weekends without wearing make up a lot, especially if we're doing outside things that already make me feel good on the inside!

My friends daughter had an appointment with her therapist. Her therapist gave her homework. Her assignment was to do her hair. Her mom thought that was weird.

I tried to explain. When you have self care you feel better.
