Weight Loss Tickers~

My surgeon doesn't like to set numerical goals, he'd rather go for overall health instead. So my major goals after surgery were to get off my BP meds, get off my CPAP, and to ride 40mi in the big annual city bike race. Hit them all in the first year!
I did want a numeric goal for myself, so I started at 160-- still in the "overweight" BMI at 5'5", but it was less than I'd ever weighed in my adult life. I got there, then set a new goal of 150, top end of "normal" BMI. I made that, too.
Now that I'm dealing with regain-- part from pregnancy, and part from slipping back into old habits-- my initial goal is 170. That would put me in a size 8 or so, and I would be totally happy there. I don't expect to ever see the 140's again, post-baby, but I'll see how much I can lose past 170.
Still, though, my measures of success aren't scale related. I want to finish another triathlon this year and beat my time from last year. I want to do a century bike ride (100 mi in a single day), or at least rack up more yearly miles than I did in 2017. And if I do those things at a size 12, that's OK by me!

My surgeon didn't set my goal. When they asked what I wanted to be, I kind of shrugged and said: "I can't imagine I'd want to be less than 160". That was 15lbs less than my high school weight. So at first, my goal was under 200. Then it was 188 because that was the lowest I'd been able to lose to before the surgery. Then I set it at 160 and after I hit that goal I started to look up 'ideal weight' on different websites and settled on 145lbs.
